Parasailing teen Alexis Fairchild released from hospital

Fairchild will begin outpatient therapy

INDIANAPOLIS - One Florida parasailing accident victim was released from the hospital and was on her way home to Huntington, Ind.
Alexis Fairchild, 17, was released from IU Health Methodist Hospital on Tuesday.
She suffered a setback four days ago when she needed another surgery because of a complication from an earlier emergency surgery.
Her parents said she will receive IV treatments at home and begin outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy in Fort Wayne.
Fairchild’s parents said she will likely need another surgery in a couple of months and she still has a long road to recovery.
“Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for all the prayers and support we have received from around the world. We would like to thank those who have arranged fundraising events and upcoming blood drives and motorcycle rides in our hometown in honor of our daughter and Sidney Good. We’d also like to thank the medical teams at IU Health Methodist who have cared for Alexis,” her parents said in a statement.
Sidney Good was transferred to a rehabilitation hospital in Indianapolis on July 23.
